Each year Hugglets host a couple of bear festivals to celebrate and support the world of teddy bears. The first event of the year will be held on 26 February. The event attracts many collectors, but you don't have to be a collector to enjoy it, you just have to love teddy bears. Nearly 200 stalls present their best bears at the event and you can expect to see over 10,000 different bears, many of which are for sale. Bears include one of a kind, typical furry types, and interesting individual styles. There is definitely something for everyone's tastes. If you're staying in a London hotel and are looking for something to do in the cold February weather, the bear festival is a great way to spend the day and it's family friendly.

You will see bears for sale at many different prices ranging from very reasonable to extremely expensive. Prices will be dictated by the bear's rarity, age and uniqueness. Teddy bears won't be the only products for sale, since the day is bear themed, you will also find tons of bear related goodies to check out including, clothing, accessories, and books.

Each year the event attracts a lot of visitors with a long line formed before the doors even open. If you don't mind standing in line then it is a good idea to arrive early, as this will give you the greatest chance of finding the best bears. The staff at the festival take good care of those patiently waiting by passing out free chocolates. Once inside, you will be able to store your purchases and coat in the coat room for free. This is an especially good service if you love teddy bears or discouver a new addiction to them, as you will have a spot to put your purchases while you look at the rest of the bears.

The event takes place at Kensington Town Hall, making it really easy to reach from hotels in London that are centrally located. You just have to take a short tube journey to High Street Kensington Station or Notting Hill Gate Station. Both stations are located on the District and Circle lines. You should check the tube line news with Transport for London before travelling. As the event is on a Sunday, you may need to find an alternative route because many tube lines have closures on this day to carry out repairs and improvements.

Entry to the event is really cheap, especially for London. Adult tickets cost only £4 and children's tickets are just £2. If you don't want to spend the entire day at the event it is worth exploring the immediate area. Nearby you will find Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace, which was the home of Princess Diana and is now the London home of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge. The local area also has a good choice of London hotels, and it is a great location to base yourself while visiting the city.
